A simple, supportive approach
Most students don’t need more pressure they need clarity, patience, and someone who explains things in a way that actually makes sense.

Lessons move at a pace that makes sense. We slow things down, explain clearly, and build understanding one step at a time.

Every student is different. Sessions are adjusted to what they actually need help with, not a generic lesson plan.

Parents get quick updates on what’s being worked on and how progress is going, no guessing, no confusion.
This isn’t about pressure or perfection. It’s about helping students feel capable again and giving parents peace of mind that their child is supported.
Short, relaxed call, no pressure to commit.
What sessions look like
Each session follows a clear flow so students know what to expect and parents know their time is being used well.
We start by seeing how things are going, what feels confusing, what’s coming up, and what needs attention first.
We work on the most important topic for that week, instead of trying to cover everything at once.
Problems are worked through step by step, with time to ask questions and understand the “why.”
We end with a clear plan so students know exactly what to practice before the next session.
What parents usually ask
Sessions are one-on-one, flexible, and focused on progress, not pressure. There’s no long-term contract, and communication stays simple and clear.
What students usually notice
Things start to make more sense. Confidence improves. Math feels more manageable instead of overwhelming.
Short, relaxed conversation to see if it’s a good fit.

Real tutoring, real patience.
Calm explanations. No judgment. Students ask questions comfortably.
About the tutor
My name is Steven Malabicky, I am a high school teacher for the city of Garden Grove, I also work with high school students who feel behind, overwhelmed, or simply tired of math feeling stressful. My goal is to make it feel clear again, by slowing down, explaining the “why,” and practicing in a way that builds confidence fast.
Sessions are supportive and simple. We focus on what your student needs right now (homework, upcoming tests, or catching up), and we build a plan so progress is obvious.
My style

Testimonials
Here’s what students usually tell me after a few sessions, calmer homework, clearer understanding, and a student who feels more in control.
“Steven Malabicky has a unique way of connecting with his students on a personal level and exemplifies calm, structured and interactive leadership as well. I should know, because without his role as my Geometry teacher, my scores on my tests would still have been just as poor as they were prior. I was able to successfully achieve a whole letter grade higher than I have in any other mathematics course in my public education.”
Arren Bruland
Former Student
“I was recommended to Steven by a friend of mine who is a colleague of his. He suggested I used him as a tutor because he was really passionate about teaching and was a beloved teacher of the school. I have used him as a private tutor in two Algebra classes. I have always struggled with math growing up, and when I needed to take on math classes in college, Steve’s help was essential. ”
